Your plan sounds real good until you start talking about Government running programs and big business subsidizing small business.

I do not want the government running any part of my business or dictating rates insurance companies may charge.

Let’s just stick to basics and make one change at a time. Each change should be voted upon as a separate bill.

I agree the first item on the agenda should be tort reform. The fact that Congress is not addressing this issue tells you they have no interest in controlling cost. Their only interest is controlling you the voter!

I agree with your second point that routine medical care should be privately financed and not be included in insurance premiums. Unfortunately few will buy this idea because people short of cash will not go to the Doctor and small illness may become major. Also, those with diabetes etc. will not get treatment and wind up with amputations etc. You need some back up provision for the liberals such as free clinics for routine care.

The third is availability of insurance for those who want it but can not get it because of pre-existing conditions. That is best accomplished creating more competition by enacting Federal legislation that prohibits states from excluding insurance carriers that have proper financial standing and making insurance totally portable. Those who chose not to opt in years ago to for whatever reason that now have need for insurance should be required to pay a much higher premium, like the high risk automobile driver.

What God given decree declared that it is the employer who is expected to provide health insurance? This means only the employed and their family get insurance and their premiums are inordinately high because those with out insurance are subsidized by those with. All at the cost of the employer who must add these costs to products making them less competitive in world markets. Get the employer out of the mix. Insurance should be a personal matter. Those who want it should be able to buy it with a tax deduction from a private insurer or from fully funded Medicare type program. Those who do not want to participate in any program should be allowed to be on a pay as you go basis. If they get into a box and can not pay they should be sued by the hospital or doctors for unpaid bills.

Your website talked about lowering the cost of insurance  but can anyone get the insurance  and if so, are the rate dependant upon heath concerns or the lack of?
